Husband implicated after Eastern Cape correctional services manager shot dead

A senior manager at the department of correctional services’ Mthatha office has been killed, allegedly at the hands of her husband.

Police are still awaiting details, but a well-placed source told DispatchLIVE the woman allegedly had been stabbed several times in front of her mother on Friday night. Department spokesperson Nobuntu Gantana confirmed the death.

“A manager from the department passed away last night. At this moment, the department does not have the full details of the incident.“Senior management from the region has been sent to Mthatha to ascertain the facts regarding this matter as well as to give support to the family,” Gantana said.
