Sinyabi vows to turn tables on Chauke – yet again

There is never a dull moment when Macbute Sinyabi is about to fight and this proved to be the case again at Mdantsane Fitness Joint when he was among the boxers undergoing a premedical for their bouts scheduled for the Orient Theatre on Friday.

Sinyabi tops the bill in a grudge match against nemesis Oscar Chauke whom he has already tangled two times winning both encounters. However this time Sinyabi will be a challenger for Chauke’s SA featherweight crown having retained the junior version of the title over the Limpopo-born fighter in a rather debatable clash a while back.

Sinyabi was to score a points win in a rematch when the pair clashed in the Premier Boxing League before Chauke ascended the crown. Now they will do it for the third time in what Sinyabi says will be a perfect way to close the year.

“We are fighting for the third time when the year is coming to a close and I can tell you that after this fight we will never fight again because he will want no part of me,” said Sinyabi.

Then the eloquent Mdantsane hero could not pass on the opportunity to take a dig at Chauke following his 10th round knockout by Tshifhiwa Munyai in England last month. “We sent him to represent us out of the country and he embarrassed us,” he chuckled. When he was reminded that Chauke’s loss could have been due to Munyai being grossly overweight, Sinyabi said: “It does not matter, a loss is a loss and he got knocked out.”

Other bouts of this unique bill, jointly promoted by Xaba Promotions and Events, Zikhali Promotions, X and Sakhisizwe Promotions will feature two other SA title duels with Bongani Silila defending his junior-flyweight title against veteran Vuyani Kheswa and Thembelani Maphuma and Lindile Tshemese fighting for the vacant SA junior-bantamweight title

Another potentially explosive bout is between Mfusi Maxhayi and Bonakele Bhikitsha in the junior-featherweight division.
