THE Daily and Saturday Dispatch is bringing the newsroom to the streets with its first-ever Café Newsroom initiative, which kicks off today.
Metro Desk editor Andrew Stone and reporter Shanaaz Prince will be at Café Bella in Beacon Bay Retail Park, while chief reporter Mike Loewe and reporter Aretha Linden will be at The Deck in Gonubie today from 9am until noon.
Residents are invited to have a cup of coffee with the reporters and discuss issues affecting them and their communities, from good news to crime worries or frustrations such as potholes and municipal bills.
The Metro Desk was set up last month with the aim of improving the Dispatch’s news coverage.
