Police in Mdantsane have arrested a 21-year-old man for fraud and impersonating a lawyer today.
The suspect allegedly defrauded people of thousands of rands in Willowvale and East London, pretending to be the son and partner of a well-known advocate, Dali Mpofu.
The victims alerted the police and an operation was conducted swiftly. The suspect was arrested in Mdantsane and was found to be in possession of a replica gown for lawyers and fraudulent documents written byAdvocate Dali Mpofu's law firm.
The suspect is due to appear in the Mdantsane Magistrate’s Court soon, facing charges of fraud and impersonating a lawyer.
