Chaos erupted at the University of Fort Hare’s East London campus this morning as students demonstrated outside campus, burning tryes.
Students were expected to start the academic year this morning after the management issued a statement requesting them to do so.
Instead, students gathered outside the campus and later started with their demonstrations.
On Friday, the management obtained a court interdict prohibiting students from “disrupting academic activities” on its East London campus.
Students are currently moving up and down out the campus.
Police are also monitoring the situation.
