Portable toilet at Mbizana school burnt to ground

A portable toilet donated by a private company to Luna Senior Primary School in Mbizana where five-year-old Lumka Mkhethwa drowned inside a pit latrine in March,was burnt to the ground while another suffered partial damage from fire last week.
Mbizana police spokeswoman Captain Edith Mjoko confirmed a case of malicious damage to property had been opened with investigations continuing.
"We suspect they were burnt down during a service delivery protest," she said.
Meanwhile Eastern Cape provincial education spokesman Mali Mtima has labelled the act as nothing but thuggery.
"There is no other way to explain it," he fumed.
The toilets were reportedly donated by Enviro Loo more than a month following Mkhethwa's death inside one of the old pit latrines...
