Komani residents are likely to spend more than three days without electricity after a substation in Ebden Street blew this morning.
When the Daily Dispatch arrived at the substation municipal firefighters went to the scene to try and extinguish the blaze.
An engineer addressing the leaders who were there said a transformer exploded after they tried to switch on the Queendustria substation which tripped earlier on. Enoch Mgijima municipality spokesman Fundile Feketshane said the circuit breaker has tripped due to power overloading. "Electricians are busy investigating the matter," he said.
