Robbers hit electronics store in Hemingways Mall

Police have launched a manhunt for six heavily armed men who robbed Incredible Connection in Hemingways, East London, at 11am.
Police spokesman Captain Nkosikho Mzuku said the business robbers fled with an undisclosed amount of money and cellphones.
Hemingways mall general manager Renneitte Van Tonder said the robbery took place just after 11am. “Six perpetrators escaped in two getaway vehicles. Nobody was hurt. We are working with the police who are reviewing our CCTV footage.”
Van Tonder commended the Hemingways Mall security team and the police for their “fast” and “professional” manner in which the incident was handled. “The security and safety of our shoppers and tenants are paramount and remains our first priority.”
The mall was open but for Incredible Connection when Dispatch visited the scene.
Mzuku said: “A case of business robbery is under investigation. The circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear at this stage. Investigation continues.”
