Rescue operation under way to retrieve car

A police rescue operation is currently under way in Port St Johns to try and retrieve a car that fell off a cliff at the town's airstrip.
Police spokesperson Captain Nozuko Handile told the Daily Dispatch on Tuesday that the car had been spotted at the bottom of a cliff by a man who was digging for traditional healing herbs on a veld on Sunday.
"The person then went to the police station and alerted the police," she said.
"The police went to the scene on Monday morning but were unable to do anything. We then requested a helicopter to come and assist from our provincial office."
Handile said they were informed it would be available on Tuesday.
But when contacted around noon, she said they were still waiting for it to arrive from Port Elizabeth...
