Police keep an eye on situation at Ibika campus

Armed police are monitoring the situation at the Walter Sisulu University’s Ibika campus on Monday.
The protest over accommodation, among other things, turned violent when students clashed with police earlier on.
Students threw stones at the security guards who then responded with rubber bullets.
Security guards together with the police managed to disperse students who had gathered at the main entrance of the university premises.
Earlier, they blockaded the entrance to the university with burning tyres.
Students have again regrouped and are now surging towards the main gate...
