One dead, air force called for help after car plunges off cliff at Eastern Cape waterfall

One person died after a vehicle plunged off Magwa Falls in Lusikisiki on Saturday.

Eastern Cape department of health spokesperson Sizwe Kupelo said the deceased was still trapped in the car and that the SA Air Force had been called in to assist with the rescue.

“This is very dangerous. There is one person dead and trapped in the vehicle,” said Kupelo.

“We need to take some heavy-duty rescue equipment down the falls and the vehicle also needs to be moved so that we can get proper access. We will be calling in the SA Air Force to assist with the rescue.”

This is a developing story.
