Nene lays economic problems at SA’s door

Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene delivered a brutally honest message on the economy to the ANC lekgotla earlier this year, acknowledging that, in part, the government was responsible for eroding South Africa’s economic growth potential.

Nene also warned of the dire consequences of the electricity shortages, which would see unemployment rise and incomes stagnate over a prolonged period.
