WSU wage talks grind to halt

Wage negotiations at the Walter Sisulu University have come to a complete standstill. 
Today more than 2000 employees have taken to the streets to demand an 8% increase and are also calling for the immediate resignation of the vice chancellor Prof Rob Midgely.
Nehawu's Mcebisi Jojo says the mass meeting held on Monday night agreed that negotiations had collapsed.
“We believe we have engaged management long enough but as things stand we have reached a stalemate. We demand two things, a better wage increase and the resignation of Midgely,” said Jojo. 
Both Nehawu and Nteu were granted a certificate to strike last week. On Sunday the university management held a meeting with the labour unions to try and resolve their issues.
On Sunday the university was offering 6.3%.
