Amanda Black in EL

MUSIC lovers, catch Amanda Black live at Orient Theatre this Friday from 6pm. You don’t want to miss it. Tickets cost R120 and are available at Music Mix and will also be sold at the door. Black will also perform in Mthatha on Saturday at the OR Tambo Hall.

HA! Man goes live

Outdoor Music festival

THE Ventures Outdoor Music Festival is happening this Saturday at the Beacon Bay Country Club from 3pm until late, with the Eastern Cape’s most talented DJs, including Von Dirty, Dan Hugo, Wes Thatcher and DJ Damage. No alcohol allowed, there will be a cash bar inside the venue. Pre-sold tickets at the Silver Stallion start at R40. (Event will be moved inside if the weather doesn’t hold.)

DJ Cndo to rock eMpolweni

DJ Cndo will be gracing eMpolweni Lounge in Mdantsane this Saturday. Ladies get free vodka shots before 8pm. Tickets are R40 before 8pm, and R50 afterwards. Don’t miss it!

Local artist

THEMBELIHLE Ngesi from Xhana near Tsholomnqa River will exhibit his art at the Ann Bryant Art Gallery from March 4 until 18.

There will be an opening evening where one can meet the artist tomorrow at 6.30pm in the Coach House of the gallery. All are welcome. Entrance is free and all works on show are for sale. Gallery hours are from Monday to Friday 9-5pm; Saturday’ 9-12noon.

Beach party at Bucs

SINK your toes into the sand and enjoy mellow sounds at the Malibu Beach Party at Buccaneers on the East London beachfront on Sunday afternoon. Music starts at 3pm.

Robin Hood

STRILING High School is moving to Sherwood Forest for their annual production this year. The Heart of Robin Hood runs from March 7 to 11 from 7pm. There will be a matinée performance on Saturday, March 11 at 2pm.

Tickets are R50 for pensioners and scholars and R80 for adults, which are available from the school office. For bookings, contact 043-735-1444.

  • The Royal Moscow Ballet will be at the Guild Theatre from 7pm on Monday, March 13. The ballet will perform an enchanting programme as a tribute to the great Russian composers, Sergei Rachmaninov (Paginini And All By Myself) Pytor Tchaikovsky (Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty) and Aleksander Borodin (Polovtsian Dance). Tickets: R200-R300, book at Computicket. Note: there are very few tickets left.
  • The Cancer Relay for Life 2017 is taking place on Saturday, March 18 at the Jan Smuts stadium. The opening ceremony will kick off at 5pm, and the survivor’s lap of honour will happen at 5.30pm.
  • Andrew Young will be paying tribute to The Beatles at the Guild Theatre in East London. It’s happening on Thursday, March 23. Show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets R120 per person. Visit Computicket at www.computicket.com for bookings.
  • The FNB Regional Wine Show returns to The Venue at Hemingways, East London on March 30 and 31. Tickets R170 per night.
