South Africa have moved a step closer to hosting the 2023 Rugby World Cup after the World Rugby Board recommended their bid on Tuesday.
The South African bid was recommended ahead of France and Ireland and World Rugby’s Council is expected to rubber-stamp the recommendation on November 15.
Japan will host the next tournament in 2019.
